The tape kit goes by many part numbers, because they are sold in complete kits by AASP providers, but there are 2 versions, one for the 21.5" and one for the 27". You'll also need to replace the tape kit when refitting the LCD panel, and will need a handle and blade to remove the LCD before the job starts. (this job requires the complete disassembly of the iMac, including removing the logic board, so is only recommended to be done by a trained engineer)Ģ7" VESA Mounting Bracket (2012, 2013, 2014 and Mid 2015 compatible)Ģ7" VESA Tongue (version 2012, 923-0423)(version 2013, 923-0531)(version 2014 and Mid 2015, 923-00084)Ģ7" VESA Backing Plate/Hinge Mechanism (2012, 2013, 2014 and Mid 2015 compatible) But this is what you'll need to complete the job. But the only difference is the hinge mechanism. Technically, Apple sell the rear housing units as different service spares, because the hinges are different. All can be purchased from an AASP, but they are not cheap. The replacement hinge, the replacement tongue (that attaches the hinge to the external VESA plate) and the VESA plate. On the 27" 2012 and later machines, you need to purchase 3 parts. Its not like the earlier 27" and 24" machines (or the thunderbolt display for that matter) where you can lean the leg forward and fit a VESA mount to the internal hinge. Technically it is possible, but Apple make it frustratingly difficult to do.
